Apart from orange and mandarin, grapefruit is a favorite citrus!
It has a deep, red color of the flesh and a unique, slightly bitter taste, its smooth skin has a characteristic, nice pink blush.
Most often, grapefruits are eaten raw - to get to their sour flesh, cut the grapefruit in half and eat the red flesh with a teaspoon. Many of us, however, prefer the fruit in liquid form, we often squeeze the grapefruit to get juice.
Just take the grapefruit pulp and add it to your favorite blue cheese salad with roasted sunflower seeds. Grapefruit will also turn out to be a delicious addition to stewed meats and toasts.
Grapefruit provides an excellent source of vitamin C, potassium, and dietary fiber, plus has no fat and no cholesterol. One-half grapefruit contains about 60 calories.
