Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze - Easy & Romantic

Written by Adam Olejniczak | Sep 20, 2020 7:00:00 AM

We love dishes that inspire and serve up romance. We've built this recipe for two and even offer some time saving tips. It's an elegant and quick romantic dinner for two, but it's also easy - just two steps! Wonderful served with steamed asparagus and roast or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:

  • Truffle Salt , Butter, or other handy truffle go to (optional see note)

If you're using fresh black pepper, try cracking some large pieces in your pan, heat the cracked pepper corns, then add to both sides of the steaks.

Truffle tips: You can really add a touch of romance with truffles, we often use truffle salts and butter. We have plenty of truffle items.

Shortcut Alert: check out our truffle balsamic glaze, and skip making a reduction yourself.  This is a wonderful item.

Step 1: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place steaks in hot pan, and cook for 1 minute on each side, or until browned. Reduce heat to medium-low, and add balsamic vinegar and red wine. Cover, and cook for 4 minutes on each side, basting with sauce when you turn the meat over.

Step 2:  Remove steaks to two warmed plates, spoon one tablespoon of glaze over each, and serve immediately.

Try adding your truffle butter or truffle salt, or cream to your potatoes. Melt the butter on top as a final touch before serving or a small pinch of truffle salt for an aroma explosion. Add a little truffle cream, conventional milk, or cream with truffle. Truffle oil is also a condiment we keep - it's more of a finishing touch than something you cook with.
